About

Our ideas are based on the word 'Dorveille': (literary) A dreamlike semi-conscious state, such as while falling asleep or waking up, between periods of sleep, or from exhaustion; generally with reference to an altered mental state where there is no distinction between the fantastic and the familiar.

Dorveille Literary Magazine explores writing where the distinction between the fantastic and the familiar becomes blurred; where dreams both big and small are present, and where hope coexists with unease. As an in independent youth-led literary magazine founded by a young queer person, we seek to publish work of emerging and and so-to-say ‘unconventional’ writers.

We publish two issues each year. In the first half of the year, we publish an unthemed issue open only to those of disadvantaged group in order to give them a voice on their experiences, aimed to be released in June. In the second half of the year, we publish an themed issue open to all authors, aimed to be released in December.

Interested in getting your poetry, fiction, or creative non-fiction published in our magazine? Follow us on Instagram and Tiktok to be notified of themes for our issues, when submissions open, when we publish, and everything else!

Lillian Pich

Lillian Pich is a student, writer, and editor from Melbourne. Currently, she is working on writing her debut fantasy novel (though this is a slow going process). While she mainly focuses on writing prose, she will occasionally venture out and explore poetry and more reflective forms of writing. When not writing, she is usually stressing about homework, cuddling her cats, or curled up in bed reading.

She created Dorveille Literary Magazine as a way for her to connect with other writers, and to build confidence in her own works. With an interest in media and too much confidence, the creation of Dorveille Literary Magazine was impulsive but not a decision that she regrets.

She solo-runs Dorveille Literary Magazine, acting as its Editor-in-Chief, graphic designer, social media manager, and operations manager all in one.
