2nd Place

Sleepless by Emily Considine

Emily is a Washington-based illustrator who grew up on the California coast. She earned her BFA in Art & Design from the University of Michigan’s Stamps School of Art & Design. Her work has appeared in exhibitions with Greenpoint Art Circle, Light Grey Art Lab, Creal Microgallery, and the Stamps Gallery, as well as publications including Xylem Literary Magazine and NYC Zine Club. She has also been a graphic designer and print production manager for various groups, including the University of Michigan Museum of Art, Ypsiwrites, Melville House Publishing, and Macmillan Children's Publishing Group. Her art tends to blur the lines between everyday discomfort, mundane anxieties, and the genuinely surreal and strange—using comics, storytelling, surrealism, and sometimes humor.
